Hmmm....selling a combo of 2004 clad proof & 2004 mint sets....

So, I bought a few.
Not sure if I have an unopened mint set or not (I don't submit them so I don't open and rip the best of the best...I just open to make sure they aren't crap).

So, if I were to sell in the current torrent of people buying them, should I sell on ebay? Should I sell individually or together?
I want to, obviously, maximize my profit (ebay would eat some of that but may get higher sales amounts).

What would others do?

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

Oh yeah....right now, they appear to go for $50+ each.

To maximize profits I would start here and offer them for less than ebay but more than ebay minus fees.

Doesn't cost anything and you may get a bite.

If no one takes you up on it, put them on ebay selling at the same time and offer to combine shipping.

    Good luck,

  • I voted keep and don't sell. At least for the short term. I personally have some and feel the price will climb higher.

I agree with Ken. I don't feel that the reality of the 2004 low mintage of the Mint Set and Clad Proof Set have shown their potential yet. Just my opinion. image

TTT for a little more discussion....

Interesting that 3 have said keep for awhile and 2 of those have likely commented below.
Selling on ebay, and separately, is leading with 11 votes (52.38%).

I need to double check but I think I ordered 4 clads and 5 mint sets and gave mom 1 of each (she can't afford to buy from the mint and I have started buying an extra for her).
So, I think that I can sell 1 (now or a little bit in the future) and keep one for myself and for my son.

TPGs are good for something, right? I think they and their grades (and NGC/PCGS registry sets) are a big spark for breaking up proof/mint sets and creating more of a demand.

Sell seperated on Ebay. In general, with this 'hot' item, people will pay higher there than on BST forum.
  • Slightly different situation but close enough !

    BST LINK

    EBAY LINK

    You decide.

A BST offer between 275 and 300 Probably would have bought it.

    I see that.
No offers here and a 1-day auction getting $310 on ebay.
You may have made more by separating them but, the question would be "how much more?" and then "was it worth the extra hassle?"

Hmmm....I am thinking maybe I will sell separately and do a 5 day auction. I get bored with 7 day auctions and people are getting back from holidays now....hmmm...
