  • Thanks for the complement Flyingcougar. It has been fun putting together my second set of dimes. Hopefully, I mwill be able to find the last three dates I need to complete my set in 67 and above shortly.

Congrats Butch! I expect you to be passing me up in no time at all!

If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
  • Thanks Craig,

But according to my calcs, as soon as I get the other three dates in 67, my average grade will be 67.12 so it looks like we will be tied for a while unless another 68 comes along. image

Congrats RooseyFan on a great set. image
  • Hey Butchie !!
Do you still have that 51-S dime in PCGS MS-68 that i sold on Teletrade a few years back for a paltry 180$ ?? You know, the one Mitch bought at T.T first -but returned it because he thought it was overgraded ?? image
  • Supercarcoins,

Actually the 51-S I have in my current set is from Nick's old set. I did at one time have a PCGS MS68 51-S that I bought from Mitch that was a coin in Steve Heller's set but that coin with the rest of my nicer coins from my first set are now part of the JHF #1 of all time set. At least they are in good company with Nick's old coins.

  • Keith,

Congrats on landing the PCGS 68 50-S in the LB Signature Sale. It looks like a really pretty coin.

    Keep the 68's coming.

    Butch

ps. Does anyone out there have a nice 52-D in 67??? Please image
  • Thanks Butch, I'm just glad you already had one!!! I'm sure that it saved me a dollar or two.image It has been almost 4 months since I've picked any coin up and I was almost to the point of going through coin DT's. For some reason Feb. has been a great month and I've picked up some nice type coins and now the 50-s. Patience pays off.

Thanks again and good luck on upgrading your great set (this original post is so old, the #2 tie thing is ancient history).image

I made mistakes 5 years ago and I am making mistakes even today (probably just as many!!) I was once told if you are not making a ton of mistakes, you are simply not buying enough coins image

Anyway, that 1950(s) Roosie in the sale was a magnificent coin and just missed FB as well - and I mean just missed. It will be a centerpiece to any collection. Congratulations!!

I had to settle with the lot of (20) NGC 1949(s) Roosies in MS67 at a touch over $1000 with the juice. One or two had neat toning and a few others were candidates for FB. Heck, they were costing me not much more than roll bid for raw gem 49(s) Roosies! I couldn't resist!
