Greatest Rose Bowl ever?

that's what some people are calling Texas' 38-37 win over Michigan in last night's Rose Bowl.

6 lead changes, a last second field goal to win by one point.
best Rose Bowl i've ever seen, only one that comes close is the 98 Washington St/Michigan game

regardless, i'm glad that Mack finally got the monkey off his back.

Awesome game with two awesome football traditions
    finally going at one another.

So nice to see Vince have a great game.
He's got two more years to develop into
an NFL quarterback. I hope he makes it.

There have been many great Rose Bowl games.
The game goes back many, many years.

I guess it's a matter of opinion on the greatest one.
I would just say that this one surely ranks in the
    top ten.

What a fun game to watch.

Great game, and put some coin in my pocket. That Vince Young kid is something else ....
collecting various PSA and SGC cards
  • Yea it was a great game. Young needs to learn how to throw. He can run, but he couldn't hit the ocean if he fell off a boat.
    Go Cowboys!!!!!!!!!! image
  • It was a great game - I don't know about greatest as I don't know the history too well. The two remaining bowls should be good too.

It would rank high if you're a fan of offense, but not if you're a fan of a good defensive game. Too many missed tackles...

The best Rosebowl ever? It was a great game and there have been some others... The 1963 game between USC and Wisconsin was a classic... USC nearly blew a 28 point lead in the 4th quarter and the Wisconsin passing in the last 15 minutes are the things the dreams are almost made of. I think USC and Wisconsin were 1 and 2 at the time of the game

There was a 17-16 USC Victory over Ohio State in 1975 or perhaps 1976 that was a heart stopper. USC and OSU were 1 and 2 at the time of the game.

Standford's 13-12 upset in the 1972 Rosebowl against Michigan was another.

Just to give the Big Ten a fair shake, perhaps the 1947 Rosebowl was great but from a slightly different perspective. UCLA finished the season unbeaten and played Illinois which had two losses... one to Indiana and the other was to Notre Dame. This was the inaugural Pac-8 and Big 9 (before Michigan State was in the conference). UCLA was a heavy favorite and with a National Championship on the line, they were beaten 45-14. UCLA returned the favor 37 years later by crushing Illinois in the 1984 Rosebowl 45-9.

Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.

It was a great game. I really thought Michigan had it wrapped up when they went up by 10.

Don't know why Lloyd saved those 2 time-outs.
