your favorite legend autograph sets?

my favorite legend autograph sets are the 2001 Greats of the Game Autograph and the 1999 UD Century Epic Signatures. They both have that clean classy picture frame look with clean spot for autograph, beautiful stuff

Those are nice sets even though I think the 2000 Greats look nicer. My favorite auto set
has to be my 2001 topps heritage auto set. All the classic 52 pics with autographs! So far
all the heritage autograph sets have looked nice. The 2002's are nice too even though
the checklist is weaker than in 2001.

  • I like the 1997 UD Legends set. It has a great checklist, and the cards have superb photography. It really sparked the autograph and legends resurgence. It's also rare, because it has actually held its value pretty well, and some of the cards have even increased in value. The player line-up is full of HOFers, and because it was one of the first sets to go with this theme it has the only (or one of a few) certified autographs of several players that are actually on the card, rather than a cut auto. The autographs are actually on the cards, rather than stickers, like the upcoming (and IMO disappointing) 2004 incarnation of the set. I'm not going to hold my breath, but I'm hoping UD will do some kind of 10 year anniversary set with a similar (same?) design, but kind of an update for the players missed the first time around and recent retirees.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
