Picked up two lots as follows:

1) Lot of 6 silver rounds. Nothing special, but for $1.00 below spot, I could not pass it up.

2) Lot of 5 Morgan Dollars: 1878-S and 1884-O each in MS62/3. 1881-O 1879-P and 1885-P in VF/XF. $60.00 for the lot.

Other than coins, I picked up an antique Coca Cola cooler for $10.00. Just something neat to have. image

Do a lot of people attend New Year's Day auctions?

It was the first auction I have been to at that place. They started about a year ago. Seemed to be a pretty good turnout. Lasted 5 hours and consisted of antiques, coins, glassware, etc.

A lot of 55 Peace dollars in upper circ and UNCs sold for $400.00 making that $7.27 per coin. Another lot of 11 Morgans sold for $190.00 and those were lower UNCs. There were a bunch of good coin deals and if I had the cash with me, I would have bid on more.

Oh well. I am happy with what I got.
  • Where is it? How often do they have auctions?
