Florida dealers/coin shops

I am going to Florida the last week of Jan. I was wondering what dealers/coin shops are located in the Orlando to Miami area?
I LOVE PROOF SEATED LIBERTY COINS AND ALL BETTER DATE SEATED LIBERTY COINS

  • In Orlando..........nothing worth going to in my opinion..........image
  • Not much in Lakeland worth going to either... Hausers is here, and Munchel's Fine Jewlery (But I've never been in there) and another shop, that's got lots of cleaned ATed crap, overgraded, overpriced crap...

Why would anyone wish to own a fishbowl and sit in it all day with his life savings out in the open for viewing?

    That's very 1970's.

This time of the year I generally get calls from out of state people who are down vacationing. I will not meet them without verifiable references. It's just a drain on my time as well as way too risky. Have another shop like I did in the late 70's? Not a chance.

Risking blatant self-promotion, I do have a small store in Winter Park, and be happy to talk coins with anyone that wants to come by!

There are several good shops in Miami, too. You would need a week to go to all of them. However, on your way to Miami. If you take the Turnpike, stop off in Boynton Beach. There is a place called Twery's Estate, or something like that. They have a fantastic inventory of coins and are located less than a mile off the Turnpike (going east).

In Miami, just look in a phone book when you get there. Lots of shops especially in Miami Beach and Broward County. There are even shops that are not listed in the phone book. Miami is a huge city, so be careful not to get too lost finding your way around.
  • I am in Daytona and have dealt for many years with Silver Coast Coins, just across the river on the beachside. Follow International Speedway Blvd across the Bridge. Great folks. Humphrie's Gold on Main Street also often has quite a few coins. All of the other coin shops (we had 3 others) have fallen away, sadly.
