Using the USPS Flat Rate boxes

I am shipping a package to someone in NY. The package weighs about 8lbs. and will be insured for $1250. If I were to use insured mail with teh flat rate box it would cost $19.90 to ship. However, I can use the flat rate box and send it Registered and insured for only $18.25!

The flat rate box is a pretty new deal. It's even better for packages under 4lbs. $7.95 I think plus insurance. Great for shipping multiple products.

The flat rate boxes are 7.70 + whatever other services you choose to use. They're great deals.

I find the USPS web site helpful, but somewhat confusing for international shipment, I got burned on an international shipment to the Netherlands, but I learned my lesson and it won't happen again.

They're also great for shipping world coins by the pound. 50 pounds of world coins for $7.70! Can't beat that.
