Finally realizing the hobby is supposed to be fun, I am curious on putting together a Roosevelt seri

I've been thinking and thinking. I before was only collecting for potential gain in value, this isn't what I want to do anymore, although it wouldn't hurt. Don't worry, im not done collecting cwt's, infact in doing quite well, writting many articles that I will edit up, and send into publications, and making many friends within that series.

I want to also go back to my first love too, roosies. I started collecting them last year, with the illusion that I could only collect them if they were "registry material" so I started buying MS-63 and better pieces graded by PCGS, and forum members would send them to me, and I appreciated that greatly. But it became too much money and I couldn't stand the fact that they were stuck in that plastic forever or else they wouldn't be worth money. So I just gave up. But now i've realized that I could collect them raw. They were the first series that appealed to me the most, suprisingly out of all the rest to chose from. Blast white, monster toned, or partialy toned AU, didn't matter, still really appealing for me.

Basically im going to get back into this series now, but raw. I would like some help with which books I should acquire on the topic. I would like some maybe simple tips from you roosie masterminds out there. Please PM me if you want to sell me something that would help me in this.image

I would also like to say that those of you who enjoy chatting with me or enjoy posting to my comments might have noticed that I haven't been posting as much lately. In fact i've had probably less than 10 posts this entire month, instead of about 20 a day, which is usually how it is for me. I will be honest that i've lost a lot of interest in U.S coins as a whole and I know that most of you on here are into that. Being a ametuer musician has also really gotten into that, along with working out for football next year, potential dates, friends, and other things that are going on that just seem to make me happier. Im still strong in the cwt area, but not buying stuff like I used to. Im mostly reading articles, writting articles, talking to fellow collectors, giving advice, and looking at beautiful tokens. I find that all more fun that purchasing, but I continue on my quest to get all of the R-1's.image I hope some of you have atleast read this and can either help me out or just share your experiences with this kind of thing. I've heard that most collectors started as kids but when the teen years came the drifted away, coming back only at there age of retirment. This could be my fate, but whatever happens is whatever happens. I just want to be happyimage If im senslessly ranting on and on sorry.

Roosies are a great set for a young collector. There's no need to rush into collecting
anything. Just do it as you feel like it and the collection will grow with time. Hobbies
are great for relaxation and recreation. They aren't supposed to be work.

There's not a lot out on the Roosies yet but the best is "The Authoritative Reference
On Roosevelt Dimes" by Kevin Flynn- 2002. It does a pretty good job with the clads
    too, but is hardly comprehensive.

There are still lots of gem and choice raw Roosies out there. It's a great way to col-
lect these and you can always bust coins out of the holders if you want them displayed
    the same way.

I think it's awsome, of course I'm in the same boat but decided on Circ mercs or Winged Liberty Dimes (See link in my sig block). After I complete the set in AG3 or better image I'll move onto something else. I realized it's not all about how much will I be able to sell them for, it's about the collection, the thrill of the hunt for the next coin and just about having fun.

    Good luck,

Thanks for pointing out my flaw image The correction has been made, this was an error on my part, I knew they did not make any 1932 Winged Liberty Dimes...
