I need help from an ancient Greek expert please

This came in as part of a world collection and I can't find it in any of the references I have.

It is and Archaic Attic style bronze that I would assume is from Athens, but I can't find it in Sear or Historia Numorum which are the only two references I have on Greek Coins. It is about 33mm in diameter.

Looks a lot like a fake Athenian dekadrachm that I have at the office.

Maybe an early museum replica? I'll have to check when I get back in tomorrow. PM me a reminder.

That would depend on whom you would ask......

Likely a cast forgery of an Athenian Dekadrachm. Check Head p. 371 for original type. Also Sear 2516.

Check your edges. It should have a fairly obvious seam or some steeply filed edges.

I guess mine will go in my ever-growing reference notebook of fakes.
