Is that one, in your opinion, better than Spink?
The reason I ask is that I have one (3rd Ed. 1971)
that belonged to my late father-in-law (my wife
gave me all his old coin books) but I've never seen
it referenced before as being any good.

    Thanks image

It's a great book. It's too bad they didn't go as far as 1978 so all of Elizabeth II's silver jubilee coins would have been included.

They don't compare, if you are only interested in the Motherland 'Great Britian' coins stick with Spink. The guide mentioned here is just
good for all of the British Colonies, but not pricing, just mintages, varieties and history etc....

I enjoy some of these 'older' references and looking at the pricing from many years ago. The advantage I saw with this book is having most it not all the colonies etc.. in one book.

I have also recently picked up a couple of books on just British Oceana, and am also expecting one on British West Africa, and another for British Maundy sets. I am also looking at some for South Africa....

I don't get these old books for current pricing, just for the fun... image

Thanks ... it does look like a good reference to hang onto.
