I agree. I have been waiting to chance upon a 1997, 2001, 2003 and now 2005 1 troy ounce proof gold in the secondary market on my price terms (spot + a reasonable % mark up) and it has not happened (not even for the BU version) and probably never will.

I quite agree with you there and have made the same observation. That is why I relunctly fork over the money to BRM. Plus it is the reason why I only go after the £25 Proof Gold version for only years that the design changes. As for the Silver I collect the whole series.
