Drop in Prices for 80's Material = Good

I for one am happy about the drastic drop in prices for unopened 80's material. It allows me to buy a number of different waxboxes at reasonable prices. I just finished opening a 1988 Tops Football cello box which I got for $9. Lots of nice stars in that set!

Now if I can only find myself a box of 1985 Topps football!

  • Try Baseball Card Exchange. They always have an adundance of material and a great rep for clean stuff.

Wanted: Bell Brands FB and BB, Chiefs regionals especially those ugly milk cards, Coke caps, Topps and Fleer inserts and test issues from the 60's. 1981 FB Rack pack w/ Jan Stenerud on top.
  • I think the prices are probably all still too high. This stuff is stray cat worthless. I still don't know what to do with my late 80s complete sets. I already threw out literally thousands of cards from 86-91 going through storage. the complete sets aren't even worth the shipping cost, and 99.9% of the cards aren't worth the grading/shipping/ebay fees unless they get a 10, and even then its still not a sure thing. Maybe Phuket can use em...

  • There are some sets though that are priced real good 85 Football is one of them those lovely black borders make them a very tough condition set. If the player selection in 1986 Topps baseball were better this would be another good set to gamble with. However with the 1986 Topps baseball set there are still tons of this product that has never even seen the light of day.

JERO - contact board member ydsotter rather than throwing cards out. He's a teacher for special needs students, and gives out cards to his students. He'll pay shipping costs (which really aren't that bad on parcel post).
