1941 Play Ball Question

Hello Everyone,

It's been a long while since I posted on here as I try not to tempt myself to buy cards when I am away at school. But, I am home for the holidays and my dad and I decided to try to sell some cards so we can buy more to better our sets. A question I have is about the 1941 Play Ball cards. Were selling one, and we got a question from a potential bidder asking what was on the back. Is it just a Copy Right Symbol, or the Copy Right Symbol and the Date. The one we are listing has no date, but, we have another that we are not selling and it has the date. Any reason for the variation? Also, is there a difference in value?

Thank you very much, I hate to advertise on here but a link to the card is here.

  • Hi -- I am no expert on the 41 PBs, but I have bought andsold a bunch in my time, and I have a Registry set (Splonge's 1941 Playballs)... I have seen backs with the copyright and date, and just copyright, but I cannot tell if one is more scarce than the other. I have had buyers and sellers both ask me or tell me what was on the back. I just ignore that variation, and content myself on nearing completion of the basic set. Good luck!
  • Cards 1-48 can be found with or without the '41 copyright date; cards 49-72 (high numbers) are generally not found with the 1941 date.

edited to add: i don't believe there's a premium price wise either way.
