auto card question

Is there a way to find every auto card for a particular player? I mean the cards that are issued with an auto on it. I tried using Beckett.com to compile a list of cards of a couple players that include the word "Auto" or "Autograph" or "Signature" or "Chirography" in the name, but that still leaves out many signed issues. Some modern cards don't give any indication in their names that they are autographed. You have to know them.

When were the first auto insert cards issued -- 1992 for the first ones, then starting more regularly around 1997, then almost replacing non-signed cards in the 2000s?
