2 PCGS Mislabelings- Back to Back RARE!!??

First I'd like to say "Hello" to all my fellow collectors. I've had so many great laughs from different things I've seen and read. And investigative work that puts CSI to shame! I'm currently working on my Lincoln registry set, still aways from #50. Slowly but surely. Anyways I wanted to show something I thought was rather rare for PCGS. 2 mislabled coins in a row. Ebay item #'s are 3946594798 and 3946602284. I was just scanning thru things and looked at a 1957 Lincoln MS66RD (Supposedly). Seen it was a 55-S in the holder, then later on looked at another 1957 with another 1955-S in it. Two different sellers but back to back certification #'s. Looks like the pics aren't available for the 2284 anymore. Anyways, just thought it unusual.

Welcome to the message boards! Those are pretty funny pcgs slabs! I don't know much about them though. I know someone here has an 1878-s Trade dollar and the slab says Morgan (or was it a Morgan in a Trade slab?). Anyway, I'm a Lincoln collector too, my set is around #42 titled Lincoln Cents. Welcome again!

Hi and thanks for the welcome. Im currently # 67 on the basic set but like I said, along way to go. Just thought it was rare for 1 screw up , let alone 2 in a row. Loks like someone two or more 55-S's that got 57 labels.

Ok, Maybe we got it figured out now. Whats up with the Tt auctions lately. Lots of nice coins but WAY overpriced seems to me.

Welcome to the boards!! - With a handle like "lincolns" it's impossible for me to be anything but gracious and I hope you hang around and learn from the folks here. I know I have! I thought I knew Lincolns before I found this site, but in the last couple of years I have realized I was a "rookie" in a lot of ways. Watch/read STEWARTBLAYNUMIS, Clackamas, haletj, Coppercoins (buy his book), etc. (I know I'm neglecting many, many experts,..sorry) and you'll begin to know Lincolns like you never have before!!!

Mike, Thanks for the insight. Ya, I know!! Lincolns ain't exactly original when it comes to a nickname but neither was my old one " Copper Penny" which I lost my password to and my email changed and , well you know how it goes when you move. Perhaps I'll change it sometime before my Alzheimers sets in permanent!
I know there are lots of great people on here with just an vast amount of knowledge between themand I hope to learn alot here. I've been collecting since I was 8 years old,( 35 years). Been thru many a rolls!! Found some decent dates too. Lots of errors..

Here is the Morgan/Trade Dollar slab (and a bonus Booker T Washington Half Dollar/Peace Nickel slab) that were erroneously slabbed by PCGS.

If the US Government can make mistakes, so can the grading services!

Looking through rolls is a lot of fun - I had an OBW roll of 1939-S Lincolns that yielded 5 MS66RD's - (I was thinking they were 67's but as HomeRunHall says, "Ownership is worth one point!!)

Mike, Got ALOT of lincolns I want to submit, problem is weeding down to the select few I consider 67RD's. My criteria may not be what PCGS looks at altogether. Then again since I've never submitted maybe I'm holding the 68s!!! I know better than that thou, hard enough to get a 67 out of them I imagine.
