So: I moved too slowly and lost a nice coin. This is my chance to find a "better" coin. W

So I just lost out a gorgeous proof merc. It was a more common one in 67 but it was pretty. The dealer sold it when I didn't check my email in time...my fault. The way I see it, although it was a nice coin, I now have the oppurtunity to find a coin with a much lower mintage for the same price range (450-650.) Any suggestions? I have a proof barber dime in 64 and with a mintage of just under a thousand and I think it is pretty cool to have a coin with such a low original population and still only have spend 500-600 on it. What are some other "good buys?" I am interested in coins with lower mintages (circulated and proof) that are "undervalued" so I can afford them! I like all designs really, so that is not a problem. I collect what I like because I like almost everything! image

(I will still get that merc eventually BTW image!)

Oh yeah... here are some of my favorites of what I have right now

Fugio vf-35
1894 Barber Dime pf-64
1931-s Lincoln ms-65 red
1866 shield/rays ms-64
1872 two cent piece vf/35-ef40 cleaned/burnished

Thanks for your help! image

The seller is also a great guy - not to mention the fact that he has excellent tastes in toned Morgans. image

I think the 1913, 1914, 1915 Barber halves are a great buy in circulated condition. I also like the 1909-S indian cent in lower mintstate grades.

I'm a little biased, but I think the 1938-41 Proof Jeffs in PR-67 are a heckuva buy and still undervalued. Less than 500 in PR-67 at PCGS for all four years combined ... I also like the proof Mercs!

Thanks guys. Well, I saw that ebay dime before...I bid just now, but I was outbid. Oh well! I am still new to the series so I am not too concerned! I'll get a good one soon enough.

Thanks for the other tips too!
