Besides the fact that it looks like it's been dipped to within an inch of its life. I might be interested in the coin if its real. The last 1 in 1871 looks fishy to me. You knowledgeable folks out there who know about counterfeits please let me know what you think.

And I wouldn't put much faith in the seller's claim that this is an MS coin. Sure looks like there's some wear on this puppy to me.

We can't even see it, not from those horrible pics. If you're hinting the coin may be altered, perhaps it is, but you'll never know from that Ebay page.

If that's a Proof then that's one very nasty impaired proof. Look at the Liberty, the fields and the date...

If I had to guess I would say proof but "definately"? About the only thing I'm 100% sure of looking at those pictures is that if I don't stop looking so close I'll get a migraine. I see a few promising diagnostics but don't see anything clear enough to start eliminating other die pairings.
