Spence Conder #2

This one, Spences D&H 842b shows a pig (Spence published a periodical entitled "Pig's Meat" ) which represents the people trampling on royal and aristocratic emblems for which he had
no respect.
The obverse with the three names, Spence, More and Paine may have led to the Tory reply of Spences? token 3 men hanging (which is the second token I will show). However, from what I've read, it seems unlikely as Thomas More was executed by axe.
Conder101, what do you think of this?
The reverse, as did the other post, has the most beautiful irridescent blue toning, on copper I might add, I have seen. I tried to capture it as best I could, but it really is not right!

Your first impression is the correct one. This token is only in the Spence section of the Middlesex listings because of his association and/or sympothies with Thomas Moore and Thomas Paine. The three hanging men were what the Tories thought should be done to them, not what actually happened to them. D&H 827 - 838 were made by Skidmore and either Kempson or Lutwyche not Spence.
