Best Morgan Dollar for type?

Which date, mintmark, and grade do you suggest for a type set? I am not looking for the highest grade, or the cheapest price (but I am not looking to spend thousands of dollars either). Is there a "better" date and mintmark in a grade that's a good value for the money? Thanks.

<< <i>1878-1882 S morgans would be great for a type set. >>
I agree you can pick up an 80-s or 81-s in 67 for less than a grand.
It has slightly diffrent striking characteristics and a bit higher relief than the other 1878 Morgans. You can't go wrong with any of the previously mentioned suggestions...

You can get a good solid UNC (82-84 CC) or one of the tougher dates in a lesser grade
Gotta love that CC mystique

Well based on that criteria I would buy any CC. However I think you would be overpaying if it's for a type set.
a few hundred and the magic cc mintmark also you might even start a circ type set of cc coinage!!!
another sexy date would be the 1881 as it is the only RADAR morgan dollar the date is the same forwards as backwords
