POLL: Which of these 1966 SMS Kennedys is graded Ultra Cameo?

These two coins were listed on Teletrade. One is graded UCAM, the other graded Cameo. The UCAM was bid to the $400 range, and the cameo bid to $45. Which one is the UCAM?

I didn't watch the auctions, but I prefer the mirrors on coin A, and even though coin B has brighter devices, would be surprised if it got the dcam designation.

I figure that given your knack for having a bit of fun here and there, you would post such a query knowing that looks can be deceiving.

Coin A is the one grade UCAM. MS66UCAM to be precise. It was bid to $400 and didn't sell. I was kind of surprised when it wasn't on my tracking list this morning, since that's pretty strong money. Must have been reserved.

Coin B is graded MS67CAM and sold for $45. I bought it.

I remember reading here that NGC grades the contrast more and PCGS grades on the mirror more (Or did I get that backwards?)

For what it's worth, I agree with NGC's grading and your purchase. Coin A is a nice coin, and correctly graded, but not one I'd pony up for. I'd seek a better example for the grade/designation/price. Coin two is bright for the designation, and a good buy.

I dont think you can make a blanket statement like that. Photography can do miracles.

It seems Mirror depth is a more important factor in CAM/UCAM than frost on SMS coins... I had a 1967 that had great frost... but the mirrors weren't there... NGC graded it MS67... had submitted another in the same submission... lighter frost, deeper mirrors... MS67CAM...
