Donkey Tail 1887 Question

Is this a donkey tail, and about what would one in this grade fetch? Thanks kindly...I blew it up, and believe it is a donkey tail but the picture is so blurry ( VAM 1a).

I am not able to tell from the photo. It should have what looks like a tail on the reverse eminating from the D in DOLLAR. If it is a donkey tail, this is a decent example. I do not believe it is widely available in HIGH CIRC GRASDES OR MS

It appears to be, but the picture does not show the D that well. Can you give a better picture of the D?

If the coin is problem-free, and is in XF condition, the coin is valued at $500.00, give or take a few cents. If the coin is in AU condition, someone else needs to give you a price, but I think $550.00 or $600.00. Not real sure, though.

That breaks leaps out of photos...if it's not 100% there in the photo it's not there in my experience.

Any idea what could be on the D then, theres obviously something coming off it

Probably just toning. Even on early die state coins, the die cracks would begin under the 'E' of 'ONE' and go through DOL of DOLLAR.
I don't see anything there, sorry. On Donkey Tails, there are also strong die cracks through most of the reverse lettering.

I've been fooled on a couple photo's too. When I got the coin in the mail, nothing was there. If this is an eBay auction, I'd pass....
