Ebay Card Buyer Requesting Personal Photo?!

Has anyone encountered an eBayer wanting a personal photograph of yourself? Seemed somewhat odd to me . . . Any thoughts?

Merry Christmas!!!

Thanks! I just paid through PayPal! If possible, could you include a picture of yourself? I'm trying to collect one of everyone I deal with.

Sounds like he/she is looking for Mr/Ms Right. A little less rude than Age/Sex/Location, I suppose.
  • This type of request is probably discussed in the serial killer profile handbook.

  • My buddy bought a used digital camera on ebay from a "bitter divorced woman". She stated that there were some pics of her cat that her husband had taken still on the camera. She claimed that she didnt know how to remove them.

My buddy bought the camera and saw the pics. They were pics of her kitty, if ya know what I mean...

    What a freak-a-deek!

How would he know it was your picture? Send him someone else, or a picture of yourself when you were 6, or one that looks like a hidden witness on 60 minutes if you feel uncomfortable.
You might want to edit your post to remove his personal information though-it was from a personal correspondence between you and him.

That reminds me of the story:
A drunk is in a bar and the woman next to him makes a bet on whether he can identify the tatoos on her thighs....she spreads her legs and the guy looks at the two tatoos and she isn't wearing any underwear! He looks for a few seconds....thinks....and then replies: "I don't know who the two people are on the right and the left but the one in the middle looks like Willie Nelson." image

Seriously, while it may be an innocent request, I can't believe anyone would have the nerve to ask such a thing.

  • That is a really strange request... I have conducted around 170 auctions on eBay and have never had a request like that!
  • That's just wrong to have a naked picture of santa

I can understand the request, sort of. When I started buying and selling on ebay, I wanted to use a map and pushpins to track my sales and purchases, just for fun. I've dealt with people all over the US and Canada, plus Finland, Greece, and the UK. Of course, I forgot to actually do it for a couple years, so my ebay history is lost and forgotten. Maybe a New Year's Resolution.

I don't know what you sold him, but maybe he just wants to know what you look like so he can kick your ass the next time he sees you.
