Ancient Roman Coins...

I got this from my Uncle for christmas... something I've always wanted.

Most were covered with crust. The booklet that came with it said that a long soak in olive oil is suggested. But it did not say how much oil. Should just it be enough to cover them a quarter of an inch in a jar, or a jar full?

For the oil to really get the grime off there needs to be alot of it. I think the calculation was 1/2 gallon of olive oil for each coin. I'd put in just a bit more to be on the safe side.

    LOL .. I'm kidding!
  • Use just enoungh. Change the oil now and then, and give 'em a scrub inbetween.
  • Have patience and alot of fun image
