Q: Hi, You may have trouble selling the 1895 Proof Morgan on eBay, as it appears that it has not been Authenticated, Graded and Slabbed by one of the Grading Services! If it does not sell, then I would recommend using PCGS as they are the most respected in the field of coins. You might also want to consider selling the coin through one of the Coin Auction Companys and again I would recommend the Bowers & Merena Company. If you contact Bowers & Merena, they will arrange for you to send the coin directly to them for verification of Authenticity and if real, they will (with your permission) send the coin to PCGS and arrange to auction the coin off when it returns. Once you consign the coin to Bowers & Merena, they will Insure the coin and handle everything. Yes, they will get a fee for selling the coin but the price that they can get for it, will more than likely be well worth the trouble. Good luck...Frank Answered on Dec-25-04
A: I'm not a coin collector, so I don't know anything about this, but I have counted the edges myself. I don't want to go to all that trouble, I just need the money.
