1979 munson psa 9 - ebay

1979 munson $82?

I have bought and sold this card a handful of times in the $15-$25 range... I just though $82+ seemed pretty high... but then again, munson is one of those guys where realized end prices seem to fluctuate... anyone else surprised or does this happen regularly?

The Yankee mistique, to perhaps describe the special market for these cards, is hard to figure.

I can think of at least two 73 Topps Yankees which went for WAY over book. Almost any Yank not in the hands of an avid follower is apt to be bid far above "regular" collectors. ( Whatever a regular collector is )
If the card in question is a 1 of 1 or 2, there will probably be some very upscale bidding.

It seem Yanks team collectors have much deeper pockets than any other, that combined with a zealous set collector in the hunt, make for some nice prices for the sellers.

I mentioned this in another thread - definitely not the norm for this card. I remember selling one over the summer (a nice high end 9 at that) for around $30. I thought that was a lot!
