2004 proof set

Howdy y'all. Haven't been here in a while. I hope everyone had a great Christmas.
I have a little problem here. My mother gave me a 2004 silver proof set for Christmas. This is good but I usually count on her giving me the clad set since it is about $15 less on the U.S. Mint site. My guess is she bought it after Thanksgiving when the clads ran out. Now I have 3 silver sets and no clad set. The clad set is getting rediculous now and it looks like I am not going to have a complete collection unless I pay 3 times the regular charge for the thing.
I need a little advice. Should I bite the bullet and get it now before it goes any higher, or should I wait and hope reality sets in?
Next year I will pruchase one of each and not worry about which one I get for Christmas.
Glad to be back.

They will increase in price,
until the 2005 sets come out.
Sam...
Thanks,
Get it now if you want it now...or wait 6+ years and hope it isn't cherrypicked to death and it does come back down.
I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
<< <i>Use one of the surplus silver sets as part of the payment. >>
Good advice!

I thought it was interesting the week before Christmas I was in a coin store and several people came in at once looking for 04 PROOF sets.
The guy behind the counter said, "We have only 3 left, 1 clad, 2 silver and they are all $69"
Turns out the first person there bought all three.
I had a difficult time not opening my mouth and telling people that they could go to the mint web site and get silver sets for half that price.
But I thought as long as I'm in someones store, that would be poor form.
Seeing/hearing what you did, did your opinion of that store/dealer change?
Do you negotiate with the dealer when you buy items?
I can actually understand the price on the clad.....that is close enough to going rate. The 200% price of the silver.....well, that is a different story (yep....the dealer has to make money, has to pay for overhead, etc etc etc.....too bad it is doing it like that)

every treasure on Earth
to be young at heart?
And as rich as you are,
it's much better by far,
to be young at heart!
LanLord, that's a hard situation you handled. Been in it myself. Its really tough when you see somebody selling something you need. I have just had to walk out the door and wait for my local dealer to do his buisiness, cause I was afraid I would open my big mouth and make the seller a better offer. I just don't feel that's my priviledge in his store, whether he's giving the guy a good deal or screwing him royally. And I have seen this dealer do both
