1856-D Gold Dollar

I recently bought this box of goodes at an auction. After going thru this box I found what looks like a Gold 1856-D dollar coin. It appears to be smaller than a regular dime. Now the problem--It seems someone soldered a clip to it so it could be worn on a shirt or blouse. Is there anyway the solder could be remove without to much additional damage to the coin? I know this will devalue a coin real quick but this coin is in real good shape. It has a brilliant surface, there is very, very little wear to the edge of the coin and the surface of the coin. It almost looks like they took a new coin and soldered the clip to it.

If you can, post a pic. Unfortunately, it sounds like the coin may already be damaged. What a shame!

newone - There are some exceptionally good coin mechanics out there. If you post a picture of the coin and activate your PM's, I'll see if I can point you in the right direction.
