But IMO she sure is nice. Blazing luster that my scan doesn't really depict, but not bad for a scan IMO.
Some die-polish in the exposed fields making her highly reflective in person.
I haven't posted an image in quite some time.
Not everybody can appreciate such a coin but for those that do.......

Yes indeed. But you failed to mention the fast, and handsome finders fee you received.
This coin is pretty special to me. There is somewhat of a "Story" to it but I'm sure nobody wants to hear it.
For a coin that nice, I would love to hear the story about it....

As you know I usually only like original crusty Bust halves. But I really like these double profiles. Anyway, I was offered this
coin by a dealer of many that I have a good relationship with (imagine that....) It was offered at a very strong price and I had better images at the time. I knew this sellers images were right on the money but I passed on the coin.
He sold it immediately to another collector. At the time and a month or so later, I looked at the images and thought.... dang, I see a double profile once in a while, and I own a few but not with nice luster. Most I see are lower grade.
So, I try and make an offer on the coin which I rarely do. And I mean a very strong offer much more than it was offered to me in the first place.
No dice, the collector said it was not, and wouldn't be for sale. I was sad a bit, inquired again.... still not for sale.
So when I mentioned to George what he wrote in his previous post, he comes back 5 minutes later (more or less) and links this coin at auction.
It wasn't what I mentioned to him and it was an ugly scan but I knew it was my baby immediately. I settled up with George (a finders fee) as I promised and
she is mine now after a eight month pursuit. No big deal and perhaps it was the hunt.
BTW, not to gloat but I ended up owning the coin for less than it was originally offered to me, and much less than my very generous and stupid
money offer to the other guy. So it's all good.
Edit to add, now please go find me what I originally asked for George!!!!
