OT-A little Christmas Prayer

My great grandmother was rushed to the hospital this afternoon, right now she is still with us, but her body is shutting down. It has been a long fight for her, and now I am just praying that she will soon be in a better place..

My condolences to you and your family. My grandparents passed away a long time ago and I can't imagine having to go through that again, especially at this time of the year.

Just thought I would update you guys.. She was released from the hospital today, back to her nursing home, my dad has elected not to seek futher treatment. She still has pneumonia, blood poisioning and congestive heart failure. (shows you how tough she is at 89.) All the doctors want her to have at the nursing home is pain medicine and oxygen. Sadly she is ready as are all the rest of us, we are just in that sad waiting period.

I used to work with hospice & palliative care organizations.. As you said about painkillers & oxygen, comfort should be the main priority right now..
