It was a pretty good one. Found a number of scarce VAMS.

I joined the forums in March of this year. Got into a few 'discussions' and learned that i needed to temper my attitude. I hope that those who found me to be a "stupid newbie" might eventually accept my apologies, and allow me to keep learning from them.
I've learned a tremendous amout about Numismatics in the last 8 months. I have managed to gleen knowledge from the experts and further my humble collection in a good direction. Able to recognize the "scams" and "cons" out there much easier for which i'm truley grateful !! Thank You !!
I hope i've made a few friends on here, and can continue on into 2005 learning, and sometimes contributing when i can.
I focused my collection, defocused it, and then refocused it.
Non-acquisition highlights for me included developing my website (with airplanenut's help), improving my photography skills, and making a lot of new coin friends.
In the first half, I unloaded much of my non-slabbed coins, including bulk silver, Whitman folders, bag-o-wheat cents, some modern gold commems, and a few dozen slabs I realized I only owned to complete proof registry sets--not because I liked the coins.
Made multiple purchases for my type set.
<< <i>Heck with the VAMs TD, how much gold did you find this year??? >>
Last Spring I found about a 1/4 ounce but didn't get out as much as I normally do. I've only been out detecting once this Fall and Winter, but...I'll be rich when the spot price of lead catches up with gold.

Attended my first major coin show (Portland ANA)
Realized a lifelong dream by buying not only a Dahlogena coin but also a Charlotte coin
Finished my Indian Quarter Eagle set
Finished my Liberty nickel set (well, I have all the coins -- I want a nicely matched MS-64 set and need to upgrade 4 coins to get there -- gives me something to look forward to in 2005)
When we are planning for posterity, we ought to remember that virtue is not hereditary.

All in all, a very very good year. Here's to an even better 2005!
