This 1782 2 Sous piece from the Colony of Cayenne in French Guiana is not a coin you see every day, but it will be sailing in the Bay of E come Sunday night with a ninety-nine cent starting bid.... The reverse of the coin (which is incuse) had an image that was too large to be able to post here, so you'll have to see it in the auction . Actually, after looking at Krause, I have determined that this is a contemporary counterfeit, which kind of makes it even cooler

Now that makes for an interesting collecting theme -- a OPC collection of forgeries.

Interesting. I've only seen one before, and it too was labeled as a contemporary counterfeit.
