Smells like an auto scam at first sniff

I was looking at this auction for a "signed" Johnny Bench bat, trying to figure what felt wrong and why nobody was bidding (aside from the lack of a photo).
Then it hit me. The "authenticator" and provider of the certificate, Landmark Moments, is also the seller. OK, now I get it. Anybody with a printer can make a COA and give themselves a legit-sounding name. Is that what this is, one of the hobby's many autograph scam-o-ramas?
