Well it started here last night between 8 and 9pm Snow Snow Snow I had to make the trek out to work this morning to pick up my paycheck. What fun some of the drifts are 4 to 6 feet high with anywhere from 8 to 10 inches so far. With another 1 to 3 inches before its all done. Lol and the jets are still coming in as I was leaving to go home. LOL my boss asked if I could stay and help out but all I to say was Merry Christmas smile and pick up my 2 crispycream fat pills rassberry flavored and walk out.

This was all I wanted a WHITE CHRISTMAS

No need for a Furnace here in Florida... High of 75 yesterday... only supposed to be like 70 today though, with that cold front making it's way into our area during the afternoon hours

Well Byron, I'm south of you, a little....like across the river from Louisville, Kentucky. And we have snow here too. It's about 14 or 15 inches. I-65 is shut down just a few miles north of here, so if I wanted to travel up your way, I wouldn't be able to. The snow is about 3 feet deep around Salem, Indiana, which is 30 miles north of here. A lot of the jets are grounded in Louisville, but some are leaving. Don't know about arrivals. Heard some geese go over this morning, no planes. It's the first time I haven't heard airplanes go over since the 9/11 terror when they were grounded all over the usa. Down into Kentucky, some people are without power due to freezing rain. There are rumors of one inch of ice on trees and power lines, causing them to come down. This is if my assumptions are correct, the 2nd largest snowfall ever in these parts and the wettest year ever on record here. Remember, we were hit earlier this year by several waves of thunderstorms with some of the nastiest tornadoes I ever heard of. They dumped a lot of rain on us as they passed through. Next year will probably be a drought. We are expecting temps on Christmas morning to be -10, that's ten below zero. Last time I remember such lows, the Ohio River froze completely over - 1970's or 80's. It has to get down around 20 below for a few days for that to happen. Well Merry Christmas and stay safe.

Well I dont have to worry about my furnace quitting. Seeing as how I worked and built them for 5.5 years I can fix them. LOL when my furnaces blower went bad I told them exactly what it was before the repair man got here then the capasitor blew and I knew what it was to before the repair guy got here. Both times the repair guy said it was the easest fix he had had both times. And it was all because of my help and knowledge.

We actually have a shot at some snow tomorrow morning...in Houston. If we get it and it stays cold enough (as it might), there could actually be a White Christmas down here. I'll believe it when I see it, but they're calling for an unusual but very real chance of it.

It's been chilly outside everywhere. I mean, I even had to wear long pants today here in Port Charlotte. Well, didn't HAVE to, but looked at the pics from the rest of the country and well, you know.

I live in Southern Indiana and we "officially" we got 19.3 inches. But, in my backyard, it is more like 22-23. Just about everything is shut down EXCEPT for the mall! LOL

So far so good witht he electricity. My In-laws just drove in from Northern West Virginia. The normally 7 hour trip took them over 14 hours. They said in some spots in Ohio, there was ice on the road about 6 inches deep. Mind you, that was not on the trees, but ice, then snow that melted and turned into ice. They said there were big holes in the ice too so it was like riding over a really bad road. But, they got here safe and sound. We were worried.

Well, here just east of Columbus Ohio, we are happy to have the power back on in our house, 18 hours without it was enough. Unfortunately some 200,000 still are without power and it will reach 5 F tonight. Of course, we alos had to pull a 20 foot long limb off of the garage this afternoon after the inch of ice caused the the tree to fall over. We also lost about 6 trees in the backyard, including a 40 foot tall shagbark hickory that fell over root ball and all. We also waited in line for an hour at Arby's for dinner as we wanted something warm to eat and the power was out for about 6 miles in all directions.

Let it snow, ;et it snow, let it snow! It's the ice that I could do without.

Here's a switch... it was like a monsoon here in Western Mass today. High winds, heavy rain, streets flooding. And just 3 days ago it was 9 below zero.

On the south side of Fort Wayne we got 11 inches not as much as southern Indiana but a heck of a lot for up here. We are still supposed to get maybe 1 to 3 more tonight from lake effect from Lake Michigan. My cat brandy got to see and to feel and to smell what snow is like. This morning I took her out at 6:30am before anybody was up and could catch her. She didnt like it and it took her about 20 seconds to figure out that inside was better then outside. Ahhh even though she dosent like her dad does.

Well we got 6 - 8 inches and it was 2 below last night and I'm out there riding along on my moped. Why? Because I had to go in to work at the hospital on my night off because I'm the only one who can make it in.

Since I've moved to Florida, I only get to watch the snow on television, which is fine by me.

I might get a look at it next week when I take my mom back to Delaware. So long as I don't get stranded, that will be all the so I'll need for this year.

P.S. I lived in Boston for over 20 years so I've enough snow.

Quit stealing all of our snow from Minnesota. It's threatened about half a dozen times to dump snow on us here, but it hasn't happened yet. As I write this, there is approximately 1/64 of an inch of snow on the ground. It's going to be a green Christmas, but at least if we can't have snow, we can have -5 degrees F high temps, with wind chills in the -20's meaning frostbite happens in about 10 minutes, yay!

We got an inch in Newport News on Monday. Melted by Wednnesday. No chance on Christmas, just temps in the mid 30s. We have not had a white Christmas in 35+ years.

As I write this, we are getting some light flurries way down here in Houston. Not much, and it's not going to stick, but pretty neat anyway given the timing and given how rarely that happens down here.
