Every Ebay seller I talk to talks about the 2 weeks following Christmas being the slowest time of the year, ironically that coincides with the FLD listings. Makes you wonder.

<< <i>I just cannot see spending hours setting up listings for items that will probaly not even sell >>
Well you could say that about any auction someone lists. It's a business for me.If I owned a brick and mortar I wouldn't wake up one morning and say "well I don't think I will have any sales today so I'm not going to open the store"
<< <i>not to mention the time you waste in packing cards that sold for next to nothing >>
There again a sale is a sale. There are a lot of cards I list all year long that only sell in the $2.00 to $5.00 price range. If I took your attitude I would never list on Ebay. Not everybody can list cards that are always going to close for big $$.You have to take the $5.00 sales with the $500.00 ones!
95% of my sales are also from between 3 to 10 dollars, and I agree a sale is a sale. Why is it many sellers out there say that sales go to nothing the 2 weeks following Christmas?? I firmly believe it is due to the sheer volume of pure junk that is listed on a FLD. The site moves at a snails pace, I have always had trouble listing on FLDs even with a cable connection due to the slow pace of the site.
Then again alot of people say not to end on Christmas. Christmas 2003 was one of my best days last year. I was refering to the waste on items that will sell for less than 1.00 like so many sellers do on FLDs.
I see a lot of people that say that it is tough to sell during free listing day. Is this still true if you feature your item and have a higher starting price so that your auction is not buried???
