we have a winner!
The proposed three-team trade that would put Randy Johnson in a Yankees uniform hasn't reached the commissioner's desk, leaving the complex deal no closer to finalization.
Bud Selig does not have all of the necessary paperwork to review the trade, sources have told ESPN, and it is believed that the Dodgers are still holding up the review process.
According to The Associated Press, which cited anonymous sources involved in the talks, the Yankees, Diamondbacks and Dodgers signed off on the deal and submitted the paperwork to Selig early Tuesday morning. Arizona general manager Joe Garagiola Jr., quoted on MLB.com, called the report inaccurate and said the Dodgers haven't done their part in moving the deal along to the commissioner's office.

This is the whole thing that the deleted threads were all about -- the Randy Johnson trade?

Randy Johnson is telling some Arizona Diamondbacks' teammates that a deal that will send him to the New York Yankees is done, according to the New York Daily News.
The News, citing unnamed sources, said final trade details are being worked out, and that two scenarios are being considered.
The two trade possibilities include Yankees pitcher Javier Vazquez, prospects and cash to Arizona in exchange for Johnson. However, the amount of money New York would send depends on the caliber of the minor leaguers.
In one proposal, the News claims the Yanks would trade Vazquez, Brad Halsey, Abel Gomez and Melky Cabrera (lower-caliber prospects) for Johnson and include about $12 million to make up some of the difference in money owed to Johnson ($16 million next season) and Vazquez ($35.5 million over the next three years).
The News said the other proposal involves the Yankees dealing Vazquez and higher-rated prospects Dioner Navarro and Eric Duncan for Johnson, while throwing in less money — around $5 million — to essentially complete the trade.

And he isn't half the pitcher in the
postseason as Curt Schilling is.
You remember what happened last year, don't you ?
Or did all that time in the woodshed jog your memory ?
what murcerfan looked like when the
NY Yankees became not only the first
team in baseball history to be forced
to a game seven after leading 3 games
to 0, but they got their ---- kicked in front
of their home fans nonetheless in a humiliating loss.
The notorious murcerfan was absent from
these boards a whopping 51 days after
that humiliation took place.
This crying face is the exact expression he
had as he spent 51 days in the RED SOX
woodshed. Each day brought tears to his face
as he had visions of upper deck shots by
Johnny Damon and ground ball outs by
Payrod and Steriod-boy Sheffield.
His team is now the official laughing stock
of Major League Baseball.
The "curse of AROD" era has begun in New York.

And, predictably he's back now with visions of another Yankee All-Star team to march through all of the inferior teams of the AL next season. Until of course, the very end.
I would rather have what the Yankees gave up.
We missed you.
