"G R" counterstamped 1979 SBA dollar

Today at the bank i got a 1979 SBA dollar that had "G R" counterstamped in neat block incuse letters on the face of it. Anybody seen such a thing on modern coins? I know that was fairly common on 1800's and older coins.

I can only conclude that "G R" stands for "government release", thus it's a test issue and worth hundreds of thousands of dollars??

Oh, okay. It was really once owned by Guy Ritchie. Earlier this year he held a contest where the winner would get to sleep with his wife for a night (Madonna). To win the contest, you must find his counterstamped 1979 SBA dollar in circulation and then place it into a drop box located in India with your name, address, and phone number.

"GR" on older coins (and military accoutrements) usually referred to Georgius Rex, or the British King George (of whom there have been six, though our colonial history only goes up to George III).

On a 1979 SBA dollar, "GR" probably stands for "Gratuitous Rendering", meaning somebody (perhaps Geraldo Rivera? Gary Ridgeway?) was bored and messin' around with some letter punches.
