1923 Peace Dollar VAM-1D "Whisker Cheek"

Was suprised my bid took this in Teletrade auction. It is NGC MS63 LDS. They certify both EDS (Early Die State) and LDS (Late Die State) for this variety. The rule of thumb in die breaks, of course, is that the later stage die breaks (hence more dramatic break) are more collectible. My review of the NGC Census shows this to be highest graded by NGC for the LDS of this variety. Heritage sold an NGC MS63 Early Die State of the same variety for a little over $500 in Aug. 2004. NGC census shows they have graded 3 coins @ MS63 EDS with none higher. There's probably a handful better out there....but this is a nice LDS example that wasn't aggressively pursued. Cool!

And a heck of a whisker at that! image
I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

    The name is LEE!
