Anyone use ebay escrow service?

How was your experience? Reason I am intrested in a card. Emailed for a better scan 3 days no reply. The sellers fb is 2 in a year and a half. The FB and the lack of a response has me worried. So I emailed thru ebay and asked if they are willing to use this service. Is there extra fee's for using this service ? If so how much?

Thanks

  • James,

Go to the service's tab on ebay, they give info for escrow fee's if i remember correctly. I used it to buy a gai 8 52 mantle last year and split the service fee with the seller.

c.c payment went to escrow and buyer sent me the card after confirming $'s. I had 3 days to check the card out and then released the $ to the seller.

overall it was a trouble free prossess with no worry's.

I used Escrow.com to sell a Mantle rookie earlier this year. That is, I declared in my listing that I was willing to let Escrow.com hold the money if the buyer picked up the tab. Because he wanted to sleep at night while his money was out, he chose to do so. I didn't know eBay offered escrow services. I'll have to check that out.
  • JR,

If i remember correctly it was escrow.com that we used through ebay.

If I e-mail a seller and they don't e-mail me back, I walk no matter what the card. Especially a 2 FB seller, selling a card that is valuable enough to be considering using escrow.

That is how I feel. But I thought escrow would help me sleep at night. The card in question I havent seen for sale in years. So I am willing to bend. No email from the seller as of today 3 emails 0 reply. SO I dont think I will be bidding. Something is wrong. I couldnt find a link at ebay I will look a little harder.

I dont want to mention the card. I dont want to hype the auction.

  • 25.00 is the fee up to 350.00 So if I win and hear back from the seller I will use that. The card should go for 250.00 or so. In the past 750.00 card times change.
