Here is a link to the beckett article. Two of my wishes have come true, it looks like some of the biggies are
going to sign autos and they will all sign in the same quantity! 475 card set looks tasty. I would LOVE
to see Bonds and Arod on the auto checklist too. Can't wait!

Gentlemen
Get ready for the "hunt for heritage" coming to a target, walmart near you! I will probably buy a few hobby boxes also - don't know about a case. Let's get the trades set early. Anyone going the case route? Even with 10 boxes, you have a chance of coming up very shy on certain commons.
On the Black chrome - I agree, it is NOT a debut - last year they were numbered to 55 and obviously this year they went with 56.
Kevin
This is my year! A high end auto is in the cards.
I look forward to our time together guys.

BTW, I've still got some 2004 Topps Heritage SPs and chromes to trade if anyone needs them.
2005 Origins Old Judge Brown #/20 and Black 1/1s, 2000 Ultimate Victory Gold #/25
2004 UD Legends Bake McBride autos & parallels, and 1974 Topps #601 PSA 9
Rare Grady Sizemore parallels, printing plates, autographs
Nothing on ebay
<< <i>will retail have sp's 1 per pack? >>
Ryan
That's a good question...the retails in 2003 didn't...so there is not quarantee. It would be nice. There would be nothing more disappointing than paying 30$ for a retail and getting no sp's, inserts, autos or anything! I don't know if I will go as wild this year since my wife will be watching much closer this year! Are you still considering getting a case?
Chris
How many boxes in a case this year? I would guess 10?
your friend
Mike
I like the retail one per pack as much as anyone, and sometimes there were even more than one
SP per pack....its kinda funny, my first retail box had a dual jersey Pujols/Musial in it and like 25
short prints.....after that I never hit anything better than a 15 dollar jersey in the 29.99 boxes. I
think the early wal mart 24 count packs had autos in them but Im fairly sure that topps ran out
of autos early into the retail printing. I wasn't happy with that. I must of opened over 1000
packs and only pulled 3 autos.
Well right now we can get hobby boxes for 60.00/24 packs or retail boxes for 72.00/24 packs. If I
don't hit an auto in the first few boxes of retail Im done...to hobby only.
I think we need to have a live group bust right here later on. We can talk when it gets closer!
Kevin
The report i have is of 8 boxes a case. and these are hobby boxes.
Kevin why is retail more expensive?
TheRoach
<< <i>Probably because you have to pay the retail prce of $2.99 per pack. That pricex24 packs equals $72. At least on Hobby boxes, you can get a break from dealers. That's my guess.
TheRoach >>
Hey Roach!
I think you got it...I paid 60$ for a hobby box and the next week he was getting 85$ - it got hot real fast.
Order early...order a lot if you really like the product.
Kevin's correct on the autos! I got one auto from 2 boxes of hobby and none from a scabillion boxes of retail!!!!!!

I'm not familiar with this seller but he/she seems to have been around for awhile. Is offering pre-buy on 2005 Topps Heritage for $55 per hobby box. Seems like the cheapest I've seen so far.

i'd rather buy them from Kuhlman..
Thanx for the link...the guy is legit from what I can see.
Having said that...he may be getting a better deal that Kuhlmann but let me say one thing....from past experience, if this stuff heats up right away/immediately...the guy has no loyalty to you and the only product you may see is a refund...not accusing anyone...but it has happened to me in the past...Kuhlmann will ship immediately and you are guaranteed the product even it the stuff jumps to 90$/box overnite.
I'm not a partner of Kuhlmann or anything...just know he is honest and when I order a box, it comes yesterday.
To close, this guy looks legit and everything...another thing...for a few extra bucks, I will support a fellow member here.
Just my side
Merry Christmas

<< <i>Yikes. Wasn't looking to take sides. Just wanted to point out other options. I didn't realize that I could buy stuff and get a refund as my product and in the event that Khulmann didn't have an unlimited supply, I wanted to point out what looked like a bargain price. >>
NJ
Please...I didn't take this bad...I really appreciated you looking out for us...I was genuinely pointing out the value in paying a few more dollars for the quality of service and stuff. I wasn't being defensive or anything...I should have been more plain about it.
You did good! I was just talkin
Sorry for the confusion...vagueness and stuff

Mike
I order boxes from topps direct and 3 other dist. companies so i dont have a unlimited supply but i have options to get a lot. right now my order number is high. ill take care of all that pmed me first. if bunch leftover ill let you guys know.
a box from a legit dealer. Kulmann is a great guy and even offered me free cards last year that he
probably could of made some money on. I would highly recommend him to everyone here. If
you are ever going through Atlanta stop by.
and yes there is NO discount on the retail end, they will always be 2.99 a pack, you do get a bit of
a break on the sealed 29.99 boxes but not much. I remember back in 2001 Kmart having 20%
sales...you could pick up those 20 dollar boxes for around 16...funny thing is that those boxes
today sealed would sell for over 100! I remember the toy r us packs having 6-8 low numbered
short prints in EACH PACK! Thats a minimum book value of 50 bucks in each 2.99 pack! If I had
only kept some unopened..(actually I have one pack from each 2001-2004 to go along
with my sets)
If I ever get the money Im going to go back and do a live 2001 heritage break. Anyone ever
think about trying to buy an older set that they missed?
I can't wait for the checklist...should be soon!
Kevin
Also, is it a stretch to think you can complete a set with an 8 box case, either retail or hobby?
Patrick
<< <i>When you look at the per pack pricing retail is certainly more expensive but I was quoted $350 for a case of retail delivered which is $100 less than hobby. Befre i saw this post I was going to ask the board about their experiences with retail last year because I seemed to remember posts saying it was as good if not better than hobby.
Also, is it a stretch to think you can complete a set with an 8 box case, either retail or hobby?
Patrick >>
Patrick
For the case retail - is that 8 boxes - 24 pks/box? That's hard to believe, that would only be about $1.80 a pack! With a retail of 3$ - it just doesn't seem correct. The hobby box at 60$ from Kuhlmann - if the same as previous years would have 24 pks/box or 2.50/pk and the retail at Target last year was 3$ a pack and the blister boxes were 30$ with 10/1bonus or 11 pks which is $2.70 per pack. That seems like real close to their cost.
Might be worth inquiring and also, as I said before, a lot of times these guys take your money and play with it and then tell you the truck was hijacked by martians and try to get you to buy crap or take 3 months to return your money....or something like that.
don't mean to rain on you white Christmas...

him in at the last second. He mirrors Moose Skowran's card in the 56 set which isn't saying much....
perhaps topps though two guys who had wrists the size of legs should be together. Arod gets
Mantle's number and some same team guys share too...Smoltz/Spahn....Ishii/Koufax. Topps is
starting to put the foreign players in the mainstream too...Livan Hernandez? Irod? Two guys
who have been not heard from in topps products. Mulder gets the boot in the chrome set to
make room for Bonds, if topps had kept the order that meant Griffey would of got the boot...not
acceptable I guess.
The base auto checklist looks weak, there are a few good ones but 85% will be in the base 40.00
range. Topps opted to keep it all retired players unlike the first two sets....Im sure this was a money
thing..I would of loved an Arod or Bonds card....darn it. It looks like like the beef is in the long odds
cards..auto GU..not a weak one on the list.
How far will topps take the parallel between the 56 set? Will the Pujols card have a small picture
of Barry Bonds on it? Two variations of the team cards? Short printed checklist?? LOL
...and then there are the backs of the cards!

Does Bonds slide?
to see Bonds and Arod on the auto checklist too.>>
JS, I thought you hate Bonds?
