Looks like a lot of IHC's, I'll have to take a look when I have time.

Man, what a disappointment. Not a single Kennedy Half.
I am as equally disappointed with the Lincolns. On top of it, the Heritage sale is mediocre at best. Wouldn't it figure, I finally have a big coin show that falls during the same week and in the same city as one of my meetings. It'll be a business expense trip. Even with a free trip, I'm still depressed about the Lincolns at auction.
Only thing I'm looking forward to now is watching Stewart and the rest of the Barber fanatics go at it!!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

You'll notice when you receive the catalogue that the "Park" has been dropped from the title, it is now just the Kennywood Collection. As it wasn't related to the amusement park in any way except a fluke in naming we decided to drop the Park.
The only named consignor in the sale (who wrote a one page biography on himself and his collection) is Kenneth H Smith. When you get your catalogues you can read his story, it's just before Dave's introduction to the sale.
Our web page should be updated shortly so you can get to the sale from the home page instead of the Auctions page.
Happy Holidays!

<< <i>I'm watching a couple of items. I'll bet they go for moon money. >>
Yep. Just checked again -- the main one I was looking at has more than doubled off its opening bid already and will probably go considerably higher. It's already considerably over so-called trends values for the next higher grade (and justifiably so, IMO). It's not moon money yet, but will be soon. It also illustrates why I rarely even "watch" toners.
I'm obviously collecting the wrong stuff -- I've seen no evidence of ANY slowdown or peaking market in most of the stuff I'm looking for. If anything, it's getting more insane. That's part of the reason I'm restarting my circulated seated dime collection -- except for the keys, pretty much everything is still priced close to where it was when I first started on it more than 20 years ago.

Thanks for the clarification, Jenna.

Shame on you for suggesting that anyone should look for
coins underneath the oldest rides at Kennywood Park.
.
.
Just because there is a hole in the fence near the Racer
(my friends told me about it when I was a kid)
doesn't mean that anyone with a flashlight and metal detector
has the right to excavate.
.
However:
Since it was a balmy 40 degrees in Pittsburgh today
AND
the ground is as soft as it will be until Spring...
.
Maybe there should be an informal meeting tonight of
Pittsburgh area metal detecting enthusiasts at
the McDonalds's 50 yards away from Kennywood Park.
