Kansas looks like a play on the 3-legged buffalo. Two of them have the same kind of tree chains. AGH

Kansas is cool. That is going to be a hot coin. Some of the early states must be so pissed witht he lame designs, IN comes to mind.

Does "US Mint image" mean, that this is the artist concept of the rendering or is this how the coins will actually look when minted? In the past I have seem SQ's that dont look anything like the hyped images.

I wish I knew how much an MS/PR69 set of the WV quarters. MS/PR68 if the 69's are too much. Would LOVE to get a PDS set of them, PCGS graded.

Just my opinion, but really lame. Any artistic beauty or symbolism is completely absent from the state quarter program designs in favor of the obvious bumper sticker/travel brochure style state stereotypes.

"So lets see, our state is called the land of 10,000 lakes, what should we put on our coin.... ooh I know! A lake!"

Nice pictures jonesy, wonder what the obverses look like.

I grade them "OK", better than many that preceded them, but not breathtaking in any way. A little dissappointed in WV. And remember, these blew away the others submitted for consideration.

It looks like this might be a good year for state quarter designs, especially when the coins are produced as Proofs. I'm not so sure that they will look that nice as business strikes.

The only one that looks a little weird to me is the Kansas. That odd angle for the buffalo might not work that well, especially since the coins will be in such low relief.

I took almost the same picture when I was cycling around the rim a couple years ago (brutal ride). I can almost see the spot the photo was taken from my livingroom. Crater Lake is amazing in person, pictures and coins don't do it justice.

you know, as we move west the scenary starts to look rather impressive-I actually like this set! These 5 stes are playing their trum cards. Minn, Or, wv-pretty well done-kudos. Even the CA isn't too bad, but I would've liked the former design better...
