  • Courtesy Post. I can't see any letters in Liberty so my guess is G-4

  • The pictures are not very good, sorry. I do not have a scanner.
Two letters are readable RT, not more. So I thought between G-4 and VG-8.
  • G4 with a shot at G6. Definitely worth the slabbing fees on that one. Nice coin!

    It's a very attractive high grade G.

One could stretch and call the obverse VG--, but the reverse is still just solid G.

G6 at least. I honestly think it would slab VG-8, though. Value $450 to $650.

You guys are tough, it will grade Vg-8 at PCGS anyday!
  • Thanks so much for your help. I would like to sell this coin, please send me a private message if you are interested.

1885 is an interesting coin, just to get into one is large bucks, but they don't seem to increase a great deal with increases in grade compared to other keys like the trinity of Barber Quarters or perhaps a 1913s Type II buff.
  • I can make out the RTY, the Y is weak though. I also think the reverse is a little better than a Good, I'd call it a VG-7.
