H.M.S. Discovery Municipal Token

Received this very pretty 1970 Canadian Municipal token as a gift. It's for the eighth annual Greater Vancouver Sea Festival (in 1970), good for one dollar in trade, and was redeemable before July 20, 1970. Municipal trade tokens are very popular all over Canada, and Charleton does a catalog of Canadian trade tokens every couple of years or so.

Here's some more info on that piece. Source: Std Catalogue of Canadian Municipal Trade Tokens & Notes by Serge Pelletier, 1993:

Vacouver British Columbia, 1970 Sea Festival Dollar, Cat # BC11, Mint: Pressed Metal Products, 39mm, plain edge, brass 14.5 grams. Mintage 5,000 est value $7 Canadian in UNC.

Later restruck by PMP but 23.6 grams, cat# BC11R. Mintage 100 ast value $15 Canadian. The restrikes also have a dot in the 0 of 1970.

Yours appears to be the original. Nice piece.
