Does anyone want this? Somebody did and it's taken!

Yes, it is a defaced Elizabeth II halfpenny. I received it "gratis" from a coin dealer at a show many years ago. It just popped up in an old box of my stuff I was going through.

From a technical standpoint, whoever did the cutting did a pretty nice job.

PM me if you would like it. You pay nothing.

Edited to add: it is now spoken for.

I missed this, oh well. Pity cos i have a friend on another forum who has a thing about ships and he's purposely trying to collect halfpennies because of them.

Oh well never mind image That'll teach me not to read the boards as regularly. lol.

Since there's so much interest in this, perhaps I should take some nice old BU full red pennies and do them up like that beauty!! In fact, I think the best effect can be achieved by starting with some nice S. African proofs....

But you're "cuprophobic". So how about a nice hammered gold noble or something useless like that?

Like a 1949 Canadian silver dollar? Has a real nice ship on it.
