Has anyone had any experience with the Canon EOS D300 digital SLR? I will use it for other things but want to make sure it will andle taking closeups of coins.

Thanks for any response in advance.

Anyone use this camera for their coin shots?

Isn't the D300 the same as the digital Rebel? If so, I've seen some posts on this camera here. You should try the search function and find them.

Actually, I plan to buy the Digital Rebel myself soon but I haven't quite gotten around to it yet. With a good macro lens you can take some great pictures from what I've seen.

It should be fine as long as you have a suitable macro lens.

The digital rebel is a great camera. So is the Nikon D70.

  • A digital SLR is the way to go IMO, if you can afford it. I went with a
much less expensive Fuji S5000 and although the pictures are great,
the setup is very difficult. I have to take multiple shots to get the
focus right. With the SLR you can adjust focus much more precisely.
