1 oz Chinese Gold Pandas - value?

Is there any place online that will give a value on the Gold Pandas from 1982 - Date. I'm considering purchasing a set from a friend (for an awesome price) and I was wondering what the real value is? I've tried searching closed ebay auctions but not enough have sold to get an idea.

Any ideas where to look would be greatly appreciated.

Here's a link to Panda America's list with pricing. Just a side note that Panda America's prices tend to be on the high retail side.

  • Here's a good list of Gold Panda Mintages. Most 1 oz gold pandas retail in the $500-600 range with the "first-year" 1982 retailing in the $1,300-$1,400 range. If you can ever find back date pandas anywhere near spot gold, they are an excellent value and will almost always bring more on eBay. A good source for current date gold pandas is Affordable Jewelry & Precious Metals. His BUY/SELL spread on 1 oz gold pandas is only $15.

Thanks for the links. From the looks of it it's possible I'm getting a great deal.

His set is from 1982 - 2004 with 1988 missing. He's selling the 82 for $800, 83 for $625, 84 for $525, and the rest for spot plus $15. If anyone knows of a website that lists a catalog value I'm still looking for one. Is there even a book that lists value, like the Red Book for US coins?

    Thanks for the help.
