eagles price guide

In addition to Morgan silver dollars, I've collected some modern silver and gold eagles. I've noticed in the PCGS price guide that for several of the years, there is a dramatic premium for some of the coins in MS-70 state. My question is: What distinguishes these coins from the others? Mine look flawless, but there must be something I'm missing.

really now- how much different can a ms69 be from a ms 70 in an ASE?

70's are (virtually) impossible to identify with the nekid eye. You must use a loupe to find any and all blemishes, hits, dings...etc.

A TRUE 70 is "AS STRUCK".

then DH must be in heaven for selling all those 69's thru the club- had to save himself a few grand that way instead of putting the true grade to it.

Sad part is- sent my collectors club coin to ngc 3 weeks ago- it's back as a 70- why????

for nicks, slight scuffing??? It's really nice when you have a scope that can see 40x better than normal eyes do- but how much power does a tpg set it to when looking for a 70?
