Awhile back there was a thread about a non-sports card set with Indians on the cards, but I can't seem to find it.

sure, blame us..
There was this injun dude selling wampam in beaded bags and what he would do is "switch" the good wampam for lesser value wampam to unsuspecting white guys. Well, one of the people that the white guys was selling the bags to got wise to the deal and blew the whistle. Now the injun is up the creek without a "flip'n" paddle...

There was that one story about the teepee manufacturer who sources too many materials from a single supplier, and wasn't very protective of securing the asset and property. As a result, ACME TeePee knockoffs started being sold on the streets of NYC by the same people who sell Kate Spade, Jimmy Choo and Rolex watches for $30 and under. The original teepee manufacturer's reputation was really hurt, and there was a lot of egg on their face.
Sometimes I wonder if kids really understand the morals of these stories - or if they just wonder what the hell we're talking about.
MS, please leave the fine folks at Canal Street Mechandising out of this.

Methinks you guys are referring to the company : When it Was a Game, or WIWAG.
I believe this company was found guilty of selling slabs graded by PSA,
which did not contain the actual cards graded by PSA,
but instead contained inferior cards inserted by WIWAG, into previously graded PSA slabs.
Since PSA's holders are tamper EVIDENT, which causes extensive cloudiness along the seams,
the only collectors who should be concerned by such shenanigans,
are those who know next to nothing about sportscards, or graded cards,
but who merely accumulate slabs with numbers on them.
