German Porcelain/ceramic coins

I'm looking for references to porcelain/ceramic coins from the German state of Saxony-Meissen, 1921 in UNC (this is so far the preliminary attribution but it could be wrong). I'm told they are reasonably plentiful, yet I find no reference in my 20th century Krause or my German states Krause under that German State name.

I'll be embarrassed if it's a simple overlook but I checked several times.image

Krause doesn't include them because they're notgeld. I believe Robert A. Lamb's Catalog of German War Tokens; The Municipal Issues 1914-1921 has many of them, but the best reference is probably Peter Menzel's three-volume series: Deutsche Notmünzen und sonstige Geldersatzmarken, 1840-1990, Band I A-L; Deutsche Notmünzen und sonstige Geldersatzmarken, 1840-1990, Band II M-Z (this one covering Saxony); and Deutschsprachige Notmünzen und Geldersatzmarken im Ausland, 1840-1990.

You may also want to pick up the Courtney Coffing book on World Notgeld, 2nd ed. It's published by Krause.

  • The Lamb book that was mentioned only covers the metal and a couple cardboard) issues. It doesn't do the ceramic tokens.
