Copper Experts. Large Cent attribute question

braddickbraddick Posts: 23,963 ✭✭✭✭✭
I did a search under 1798 in an attempt to locate information regarding the pictured Large Cent I received today but with 40+ varieties, I'm a bit lost. Add to the complication this one is a beater causes me to come to you!

Any help? Although it's just for my Dansco type set, I'd like more information on it if that's possible.
Thanks!

  • It looks like S-145, an R.3 variety.

Good thing it's for a type set. I am not sure, but I think that it might just possibly get bagged at PCGS.....but I am not positive about that. image

Not that it matters much, but I take it that's a common variety?

Really? What makes you think that? image Honestly has way too much detail for BraddiK, I wonder why he would buy this?

Braddick - those pics are good enough for Ebay (my eyes hurt after looking at them) image

  • The reverse has some nice rainbow toning. On eBay, it would be described like this:

The delicate, natural patina of this large cent is a canvas that is elegantly accentuated by liberal splashes of deep burgundy that are framed by stunningly beautiful irridescent green highlights. ........or something like that....
